Your favorite program will start, but you're stuck on the bus 45 minutes from home. What are you doing ? As technology develops and that the media are evolving, watch TV on the internet has become more and more common. There are many ways to do either legally with paid subscriptions or with questionable techniques. To learn to watch your favorite channels from anywhere, see step 1 below.
Method 1 Use the free streaming sites
Find a streaming site. There are a variety of internet websites that offer links to live broadcasts of all the popular television channels (and less popular). These sites are of questionable legality and you might have problems at the time of receiving the video stream.
Some of the most popular sites are World Wide Internet TV, Live TV and Stream2Watch Cafe.
Much of these services are supported by advertising and you may have to cope with popup windows and other advertisements in order to watch them.
These sites are perfect to watch shows from other countries, since they often take into account countries worldwide.
Find the channel you want. Most streaming sites have a list of all available channels, categories and search functions. Use them to find the channel you want to watch.
Select the video stream. After selecting a channel, you may need to choose from a selection of video streams. This video streams are running on different servers and some may be out of service while others are in operation. Find the flow works best with your connection.
You will often wait until the ads disappear or you will have to manually close the ads that appear at the top of the video player. They generally have a small "X" icon that you can click to close them.
Method 2 Use Aereo
Register at Aereo service. Aereo is a subscription that lets you watch your local channels from any modern computer or device. It does not support cable channels, just local air channels in your area.
Aereo you can use to watch live or record a program and watch it later.
Aereo costs about $ 8 per month.
Download the application. If you want to watch your live TV wherever you are, we recommend you download the application on your mobile device. The application is free as long as you have a subscription Aereo. You will not need an application for watching TV on your computer.
If you watch TV from your computer, Aereo recommends using Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera. Internet Explorer works but tends to have more problems than other browsers.
Update Flash. Aereo uses Adobe Flash to play videos via the web browser on your computer and you'll have a better experience if you use the latest version. For more details on Flash update, see this guide.
Connect with your Aereo account. Once you are logged in, you can access Aereo on your computer from the web site or through the application for your iOS or Android device. We will present you a guide showing all the programs that are currently broadcast on channels which you have access.
Select a movie. Once you have selected a movie, click the View button to start watching it immediately or you can save it to watch later. The basic subscription Aereo includes 20 hours of recording, while the premium subscriptions are provided with 40 hours.
Aereo only supports viewing of the current program. If you still want to watch this channel after the end of the program, you will select the next program in the guide. [1]
Using the cable service
Xfinity cable subscribers
Log on to the Xfinity website. You will need a valid cable subscription to watch live TV from the Xfinity website. If you only receive access to the internet by Xfinity, you will not have access to live TV.
Click the link Log on Xfinity homepage to connect with your authentication data.
If you have not created an account, you can create one by entering your account number, your date of birth, address and telephone number. If the information corresponding to your account information, your account will be created.
Click the TV button. In the top of the home page Xfinity, you will see a row of buttons that take you to different parts of Xfinity network. Click the TV button to open the TV page.
Select the "Watch Online" tab page in the TV if it is not already selected.
Click on the "Live TV" category. Top of the "Watch Online" tab you will see several options that allow you to choose what kind of program you want to see. Click on the "Live TV" to see what is possible to see live.
Find a channel to watch. The list of available channels will appear, together with the programs that are currently broadcast. All channels will not be available because of different contracts and some require an additional subscription. Click the "View" on one of the channels available to start the watch.
If you are prompted to install something in order to watch a channel, follow the instructions to make sure that everything was updated correctly.
Subscribers to AT & T U-verse
Log on to the website U-verse. You will need a valid cable subscription to watch live TV from the U-verse web site. If you only receive access to internet U-verse, you will not have access to live TV.
Click on the link Connect to the home page U-verse to login with your credentials.
Open the Live TV section. Click the Browse button next to the top search bar on the home page U-verse. Select "Live TV" from the menu that appears. The U-verse Live TV guide will appear, displaying a list of everything that is currently broadcast.
Determine if you need to be home to watch TV. U-verse offers some channels to watch anywhere, as long as you are connected. Other chains, marked "only home", can be viewed on your computer only if you are connected to your home network.
Install the extension LIVE Player. If you want to watch channels that can be viewed "only home", you need to download and install the extension for the browser. This extension authenticates your browser and certify that you are connected to your home network. You can install the extension by clicking the "Install Extension" at the top of the page and following the instructions.
You will not need the extension only if you try to watch regular TV streaming.
Start looking. Place the mouse pointer on the channel you want to watch and click the "Watch Now" that appears. A new tab will open and after a few moments, the video will start.
Time Warner Cable subscribers
Connect to the Time Warner website. You will need a valid cable subscription to watch live TV from Time Warner website. If you only receive access to the Internet by Time Warner, you will not have access to live TV.
Click on the link Connect to the home page Time Warner to login with your credentials.
Open the Live TV page. Hover the mouse over the option TV menu on the home page Time Warner and click on "Watch TV online." This will bring you to the Time Warner online video player.
If you're not connected, you will be asked to sign in to access this guide and drive.
Browse through the available channels. On the left side of the player, you will see a list of available channels. This list is based on your subscription television and on what is available for online streaming (all channels do not support online streaming). Scroll through the list to find the program you want to watch.
Look at your program. Click on the program to start broadcasting it in the main screen of the video player. You can adjust the volume and size of the screen using the controls at the bottom right of the player.
Watch the local newspaper
Visit the website of your local newspaper. Many local news programs will broadcast the news online program free together the show is broadcast on television. You can usually access these video streams directly from the home page of the news site.
All the chains do not offer, so check availability with your local channels.

Look at the newspaper. You will be able to look at the newspaper as if you were watching it from your TV, including advertisements. However, you can not continue to watch TV after the end of the show. News sites will broadcast the news program; if you still want to watch this channel, you should use one of the methods listed above. [
